The man who killed a woman by shooting her on Monday in downtown New Orleans is wanted by the New Orleans Police Department. BJ Brown, 32, is wanted by the NOPD.
The murder of Cassandra Jones, which took place at around 9:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Iberville Street, is what led to Brown’s arrest, according to the New Orleans Clerk of Civil Court.
On June 27, after Brown’s arrest warrant was issued, the NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals began looking for him.
The search for Brown has now reportedly crossed state lines, according to our partners at WKRN in Tennessee. According to reports, Brown is also wanted for allegedly shooting a police officer on Monday night in Houston County.
In an effort to find Brown, a Blue Alert was sent out on Tuesday night.
The purported shooting in New Orleans led to the suspect’s alleged escape to Tennessee. When an Erin police officer conducted a traffic check when Brown was in Tennessee, according to the police, Brown seized a pistol and shot the officer.
Brown managed to escape capture and is currently at large. The officer’s health is stable, according to reports.
