Starbucks must slap a cancer warning on its products in California, a judge ruled Wednesday — just the latest in a long line of products now forced to bear the foreboding label in the Golden State.

A nonprofit group sued the coffee chain and other bean slingers under a state law that requires warnings on a wide swathe of chemicals that can cause cancer — including acrylamide, a carcinogen created in the roasting process.

Starbucks and around 90 other companies had argued that the levels of the chemical compound found in coffee are harmless, especially compared to the drink’s health benefits — but the judge said they failed to make the case.

California cancer warning can also be found on wiring, jewelry, dishes, flashlights and pesticides, according to the American Cancer Society.
